I have read 5 or 6 books about Abraham Lincoln and this one is very unique. It isn't a traditional story at all. The author was commissioned to paint the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation and spent 6 months at the White House on the project/5. This was a very interesting book written by a man who painted the portrait on the cover. He spent six months in the White House while he did it and got an interesting point of view of Lincoln's day to day life during the final months of the Civil War and just before his assassination/5(20).
